Take a Wii on the road with some help from the Japanese company Century

The Nintendo Wii is probably the most successful out of all the three next-generation video gaming consoles, at least for the time being. And since any popular product immediately draws the attention of third-party developers, it's no wonder that an increasing number of manufacturers have come up with all sorts of accessories for Nintendo's console, including portable displays.

Although it's not the first one of its kind, the device developed by the Japanese company Century does offer a few features that will certainly make Wii fans rejoice. As the Impress website informs us, the device uses liquid crystal display (better known as LCD) technology, has a 7-inch diagonal and, more importantly, comes packed with its own sensor bar, thus allowing the users to carry around just the Wii and the Wiimote, without the very delicate and sensitive sensor bar.

However, that's not all this device has to offer. Thus, the 7-inch LCD display incorporates some sort of a docking station for Nintendo's console, namely a converter box that will take care of all the power and A/V connections. Thus, the converter will provide power for both the display and the console, which means that gamers can leave the Wii's power adapter at home. Moreover, the device can also be powered via a car lighter adapter, which makes it even more portable.

The Portable 7-inch LCD with built-in sensor bar from Century retails for around 120 US dollars (14,800 Yen). This is quite a surprise, as the price is not very exaggerated, as one might expect from such a novelty device. However, the product is available just in Japan for now, and will most likely be a lot more expensive when (or if) it hits either Europe or America, but it will be worth every penny, especially for those gamers who really want to take a Wii on the road.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
