When Nintendo president Satoru Iwata held a conference to talk about company issues and outline for the current fiscal year, the Japan-hosted event revealed an amazing 124 Nintendo titles prepping to hit the Wii and the DS. 45 of the titles are headed for the Wii, while the most anticipated ones remain Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata talks about appealing hardcore gamers in 2007:

Excerpts of Nintendo's Q&A session with investors: "It will be from around the end of this summer to the end of this year," said Satoru Iwata. We will then launch a new title of Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption although the last one is primarily for the overseas markets. These will be the key titles for the period ranging from the summer until the holiday sales season of this year, and I think we will be able to cater to the specific needs you mentioned."

Satoru Iwata continues speaking about why the Q3 lineup wasn't announced earlier and why so few titles are available for the year: "...we are strongly holding the belief that we must raise the quality level if we need to introduce something new to our customers. We wanted to avoid a situation where these flagship titles were introduced when they were not perfectly tuned up. Please allow us that it is taking time."

Good thing Metroid and Mario have been officially announced for the year. At least two titles are worth buying a Wii in 2007.
