Wondering if any Virtual Console games are within the 45 Wii titles?

The part with the Wii titles, I get - Nintendo's next-gen console (so to speak), is in need of some games (people can't play Wii sports and Zelda forever), but the DS? 79 titles? What are we, talking a 10 year time-frame here? And to think that some of the 45 new ones launching on the Wii are likely Virtual Console titles too... Jeez! They sure know how to create mass hysteria, I'll give them that.

Think about it, if Nintendo was prepping to release 45 kick-ass games, solely on disc, and...let's say 10 Virtual Console titles, you don't honestly think they'd actually mention them being Virtual Console titles, do you? No, Bloomberg would have announced 55 titles for the Wii, as you can imagine. Although they're not saying anything of Virtual Console games, it's kind of hard to believe that 45 new titles are hitting the console just like that. Not by the end of 2008 that's for sure.

So even if the large amount of titles scheduled for both Wii and DS is real, I'm guessing this is at least for a three year period. But then there's always the possibility that they're launching titles that blow. No offense to the companies involved with making the games and consoles but, when Nintendo published Wii and DS sales figures, setting their own bar higher, they had to say something about some games too.

Whatever happens, everyone should know that it's Nintendo who made the announcement. It's not just some rumor, so you can bet your house that they're coming up with the 124 titles. When? That remains to be seen.

Why don't they just come up with a better handhed, other than releasing 79 more games for the 2 year old currently available one?
