Symbian^3 smartphone users should be happy to find that the new iteration of the popular mobile social networking and messaging client Nimbuzz is now compatible with their devices. The developer has officially announced the availability of Nimbuzz 3.0 for Symbian smartphones, including Symbian^3.

In addition to the new features that it brings, Nimbuzz 3.0 has been especially optimized for Nokia's N8, E7, C6 and C7 handsets, which run on the Symbian^3 platform.

Nimbuzz 3.0 adds new features for users, such as:

- Customizable tabs: select which tabs you want to see and in what order. - NimbuzzOut call rates are displayed in real time below the number before placing the call. - Recent calls tab: see all your received, missed and outgoing calls.- 2 new chat styles: with avatars and without. - 3 options to view the Contact List. - Sort contacts by status. - Facebook Connect: removes the 400 contacts limit and connectivity issues. Interface improvements have also been added to the latest version of Nimbuzz, like 2 new tabs, one for Call history and another one called My info, which gives users an overview of the most important functions of their account.

Nimbuzz recommends users that have installed the new update to go to Settings / Accounts / Reconnect to Facebook to be able to see their contacts again. After typing in their Facebook username and password, they will need to allow Nimbuzz to access to the following Facebook permissions:

Access my basic and profile information – to sign you in and display your Facebook profile picture. Access my data anytime – so you only need to input your username and password once. Access Facebook Chat – so you can start chatting with your Facebook friends. Post on my Wall – is an opt-in option you can confirm later. We won’t spam your friends.

Besides the new features and user interface improvements, Nimbuzz 3.0 also fixes more than 300 bugs and issues that have been reported, including the infamous “-20Error”.
