South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has just made its Nexus S smartphone official for the market in India, where it lands along with a range of other Samsung Android devices, including the Galaxy Pro, Fit, Ace, Pop, and the CDMA flavor of Pop.

The Nexus S is the very first Android 2.3 Gingerbread-based smartphone from Samsung to arrive on the market in India.

Of course, it was also the very first Gingerbread phone in the world, when it landed on shelves in December last year.

In India, the mobile phone has been available with a price tag of Rs.29950 attached to it through various retailers, FoneArena notes in a recent article.

Nexus S arrives on shelves with a 4 inch Super Clear Curved LCD display, along with a fast 1GHz Hummingbird application processor, and 16GB of internal memory.

On the back, the handset sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash, auto focus and support for HD video recording.

Moreover, the new mobile phone comes to the market with a NFC( Near Field Communication) chip inside, as well as with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, and with support for 3G networks.

Unlike the Nexus S, the other new devices that Samsung made officially available in the country run under the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system version.

The Galaxy Ace is the most advanced of them, and also sports the highest price tag, Rs.17040. Next in line comes the Galaxy Pro, a candybar QWERTY device priced at Rs.13750 on the Indian market.

The Samsung Galaxy Fit sports a price tag of Rs.11870, while the Samsung Galaxy Pop is priced at Rs.10290 and 10500, for the GSM and CDMA flavors, respectively.

Basically, Samsung brought all of its latest Android handsets to the market in India, and it is expected to launch even more of them soon.

Next in line would be the Samsung Galaxy S II, which should arrive on shelves starting with May.
