Apple reminds us of its funnest iPod ever

Apple has started airing a new iPod touch ad under the same “funnest iPod ever” slogan. The new ad manages to showcase some 15 applications in under 30 seconds, accompanied by a song from Franz Ferdinand's latest album.

“iPod touch games and applications are nothing short of amazing. And the App Store is where you’ll find them all,” says Apple. “The world’s best developers are taking advantage of groundbreaking technology, including Multi-Touch, the accelerometer, real-time 3D graphics, and 3D positional sound, to create games and applications made especially for iPod touch. So whether you’re a gamer or into something else - chatting, social networking, news, sports, finance - there’s bound to be something just for you.”

Lately, Apple has been neglecting its fun-packed iPod in favor of the iPhone, which saw triple the amount of ads aired during the past month. Apple probably felt it was time to remind folks just how fun the iPod touch is, considering the 20,000 + apps currently living in the App Store, many of which are games.

The new iPod touch ad is strikingly reminiscent of the previous ones, as it uses the same fast paced manner of showcasing the games, one after another, one "on top" of the other. iPod touch owners are sure to recognize some of the apps featured in the ad, which include Platypus, Nanosaur 2, SimCity, Fast and Furious: Pink Slip, Low Grav Racer Touchgrind, and more.

What can be considered a recent practice at Apple is linking to the iTunes Store for the actual apps featured in the commercial, as well as the musical track accompanying the colorful display. After viewing the ad, visitors can activate one in three controls and watch the ad again, buy the song on iTunes, or buy the featured games from the App Store.
