14 DAY TRIAL // It appears that HTC Desire HD, the high-end Android-based mobile phone the Taiwanese handset vendor HTC Corporation unveiled officially back in September has just get its second software update since the official release.
According to some of those who already downloaded and installed the software update, it was meant to fix screen control issues the smartphone came to shelves with.
Interestingly enough, the first software update that HTC pushed out to the Desire HD was targeted at the same problem, as it came with “screen control and photo message compatibility enhancements.”
However, it appears that the new firmware update for the smartphone was also aimed at solving an issue with crashing of the YouTube app.
The software update was reportedly sent to users over the air, but HTC has not posted something on the matter on its support website, at least not at the time of this article.
Even so, it appears that some managed to grab a download link and make it available for more users, as this article on Android Police states.
According to this thread at XDA-Developers, the new update comes as software version 1.132.405.6 and weighs in at 18.1MB.
Many users already reported successful installation of the solution, and those early HTC Desire HD owners might want to give it a try as well.
They can search for the update straight from their handset, through going to Settings > About Phone > Check for Updates, in case they would like to perform the update over the air.
However, there's also the possibility to download and install the solution via a desktop computer, in case the software update does not appear on the device.
One thing that is certain is that not all issues that HTC Desire HD might have were solved with this second firmware update either, which means that it might not be too long before another similar solution is pushed out to end users.
