We already brought you news about a new rugged device coming from the Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia and subjected to a series of “real-life” challenges, and now a few more details on said device have surfaced on the Web. On the one hand, it seems that the phone did a few more stunts, namely it was dropped from a ladder about two stories high, was taken for a swim in the pool, and also took a bath in a pint of beer. On the other hand, the device seems to have been given a name, which is Nokia 3720 classic.

Fore sure, one won't try to perform these tests on the very phone one owns, yet accidents might happen, and the guys over at Nokia seem determined to show us that there are handsets that can survive such accidents. A quick look at the videos below will show you that this new device is a tough one, for we're not sure how many other handsets would be able to withstand such treatment.

Nokia hasn't unveiled any details on the new phone until now, and we're not sure when it will say anything about it, yet it seems that the phone could be none other than the IP54-certified Nokia 3720 classic handset that was spotted last month. The device seems to impress not only through its ruggedness, which allows it to keep working even after suffering “small” accidents, but also through its features, one of which, for example, is a battery that can last for as long as 2.5 weeks on a single charge.

The specification list of the Nokia 3720 classic shows the presence of FM radio, Bluetooth connectivity, S40 operating system, a 2.2-inch QVGA display with support for up to 16M colors, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, integrated flashlight, 25MB of internal memory, as well as a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space. According to the news, the device should become available on the market sometime in September, though there are no details on the price tag it might feature.
