Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has been long rumored to plan the launch of a high-end Nokia Lumia device in the not too distant future, one that should arrive on shelves as the Lumia 928, and some more info on the matter is now available.

Apparently, the Windows Phone 8 device is already being extensively tested out there, and people who have it in their hands at the moment are using it for daily tasks, including the taking of photos.

Such shots, allegedly taken with the device itself, have emerged online courtesy of Androidsym, supposedly showing not only what the handset can do, but also its back cover.

As WPCentral notes, EXIF data associated with these images points at the upcoming Nokia Lumia 928 smartphone, yet the one image that appears to show the device doesn’t.

In the photo, you can see the phone’s tester next to her family reflected in a mirror, with the device itself clearly visible.

It is dressed in white, and features a specific placement of camera and flash, one that is not available for another Nokia Lumia device at the moment, which suggests that this might indeed be the yet unannounced smartphone.

The design of the phone also appears to be different than that of current Nokia Lumia devices, being a combination of Lumia 920 and Lumia 720, just as Lumia 928 was previously rumored to look like.

However, there’s no confirmation on this phone indeed being the expected flagship device for Verizon, and we’ll have to wait for a formal announcement on this to emerge to learn more on the matter.

Previously, Lumia 928 had been rumored to arrive on shelves with the same internal hardware as the Lumia 920, but with a thinner and lighter body, and support for Big Red’s 4G LTE network. It should sport a Xenon and LED flash combination when launched, it seems.
