A new James Bond game is now all but confirmed, as movie studio MGM has just revealed that a new movie with the famous British spy will be making its debut on the silver screen on November 9, 2012.

James Bond hasn't been doing too well in terms of movies or video games recently.

The recent James Bond movies, starring Daniel Craig, haven't been the money makers MGM had hoped for, and this led to the studio filing for bankruptcy last year.

Meanwhile, Activision, the owner of the James Bond game franchise hasn't exactly honored the property, as full-pledged titles like Quantum of Solace or the recent Blood Stone, not to mention the eagerly awaited GoldenEye 007 remake, haven't achieved great sales.

Still, it seems that Bond is poised to make a comeback on both fields.

The studio has just announced that a new Bond movie, with Craig in the main role, will appear on November 9, 2012, with the help of Sam Mendes, the director of previous films like Jarhead or American Beauty.

According to the report from Deadline, the movie is going to get a tie-in video game, coming from one of Activision's internal studios.

"Yet another James Bond videogame, which also had been held up because of the uncertainty, recently got the go-ahead," read the report.

There's been quite a lot of speculation concerning the next Bond game, particularly about which studio will be working on it.

Treyarch, who developed Quantum of Solace, is now focused only on the Call of Duty series, seeing as how it's recent Black Ops title raked in more than $1 billion.

Bizarre Creations, the team behind the not so successful Blood Stone 007, is rumored to be getting ready to be sold by Activision to another company, seeing as how its recent projects haven't reached commercial or critical success.

Last but not least, a new report from last month said that Raven Software, the team behind Singularity or Wolfenstein, might also be working on a James Bond project, which was put on hold due to the MGM turmoil.

Considering the 2012 release date, the next Bond game is still far away, so get ready for more rumors to appear until then.
