TLC knew that it had gotten its hands on the goose with the golden eggs the moment people reacted so violently when shown footage of Honey Boo Boo Child drinking a caffeine-laden concoction called “Go Go Juice.” So, they gave her and her family their own reality show.

Aptly called Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, the new reality series focuses on the pint-sized beauty queen and her colorful family.

A new video for one of the upcoming episodes has just been released but, this time, it puts Boo Boo’s mother, June Shannon, into the spotlight for a change.

Check it out below.

She likes to think of herself as of “the Coupon Queen” and she’s very proud of turning Boo Boo into the most talked about kiddie beauty queen on the circuit.

June is also very unapologetic about the way she finances her dreams of keeping Boo Boo on the kiddie pageant circuit, as well as about the things she does to always have her in top shape, including making her drink caffeinated beverages to boost her energy levels (the aforementioned “Go Go Juice”).

At the same time, June has a very healthy sense of humor, as the video below will show.

It’s called “June and the Slide” and shows the overweight mother of three trying a fun ride at the park, with predictably hilarious results.

She is obviously too big for the slide but that doesn’t stop her from having her fun. Even her kids laugh at her when she comes crashing down in the pool, screaming with delight, “tidal wave!”

Considering how aggressively viewers have responded to the show, with many of them saying it was so bad it wasn’t even worth their time, we might assume that this new episode is meant to ingratiate June with audiences by showing her fun-loving side.

TLC’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo premiered to solid ratings of 2.2 million viewers but the feat was shadowed by harsh criticism of the show’s content, including June’s parenting skills.

I lived down south for years and I know many folks who live and think like Alana and family. Most of the folks are kind, funny and sincerely love each other. But they should be held to the same standards of civilization (cleanliness, healthful living, basic education of themselves and their kids, some hope for a decent earning potential) as most people want for themselves and their own families. More power to anyone who can happily accept and make the most of what they have.
