It looks like Verizon's HTC Thunderbolt is getting a lot of attention these days with all the Gingerbread ROMs that keep leaking in the wild.

Only a few days ago we reported about an official Gingerbread ROM that was leaked courtesy to the guys over at XDA, and we already got another one, which seems to be a newer version of the upcoming Android 2.3 for Thunderbolt.

Although HTC confirmed that the Gingerbread update for the Verizon Thunderbolt will be deployed in Q3, the handset maker did not disclose any possible release dates.

Until Verizon pushes the update OTA (over the air), Thunderbolt owners can flash some of the these official ROMs that leaked ahead of launch.

While there's no telling if a newer version of the ROM will be released and which will be the final version, those who flashed some of these RUU files did not complain about any issues.

The latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread version for Verizon HTC Thunderbolt is 2.11.605.0 and is now available for download courtesy to the guys over at XDA (via Football user).

It is also worth mentioning that the 3G radio is new, while the LTE radio is the same as the one introduced by the last week's leaked ROMs.

Unfortunately, the voicemail notifications are not working yet, so HTC might still have some work to do before launching this one.

However, users who already flashed this Gingerbread ROM, leaked in the form of a ROM Update Utility (RUU), reported that their devices worked smoothly with no problems whatsoever, just like the previous versions.

However, it is recommended to back up all data stored on the smartphone, as the RUU update file will delete everything from the Thunderbolt.

Obviously, the ROM will unroot the device, so it is advisable to wait a bit more until it is rooted.
