Still reeling after the departure of famed creator Tomonobu Itagaki, the leader of Team Ninja and creator of Ninja Gaiden, Tecmo has announced several new projects that it plans to develop and release the next year.

Quantum Theory might just be the biggest bet that Tecmo is making. This is a third person shooter for the PlayStation 3 which boasts a dynamically changing environment and fully destructible surroundings. This is the first shooter that Tecmo has ever done and as such it will be interesting to see how the fighting games mentality that permeates much of the company will be reflected in the product. Team Tachyon is in charge of creating the PlayStation 3 title and Tecmo is promising more details soon.

Again is a murder mystery game for the Nintendo DS, somewhat similar to Hotel Dusk, and puts the player in the role of an FBI agent tasked with investigating a series of murders similar with other incidents which happened 18 years before. The DS will use one of the screens to present the past and one to show the future and gameplay will seek to task the player with operating in both time frames in order to create a mystery filled experience.

Undead Knights is a PlayStation Portable exclusive which aims to blend light role playing elements with some undead action. You will play as a demonic force which uses zombies to achieve his aims. In a mechanic similar to the Overlord, you will use your minions to assault obstacles and enemies. The game promises interesting multiplayer matches via ad hoc local connections. It will be interesting to see whether the game will manage to attract PSP owners.

The big news is that Team Ninja is not developing any game at the moment, although Tecmo is likely to announce something regarding the studio in the coming months.
