The fourth pack of downloadable content has been officially unveiled by 2K Games and Gearbox software after the accidental discovery by a fan in the 1.31 PC patch. The add-on is called Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution and will be released in September for the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PC.

Claptrap's New Robot Revolution will be playable in both single player and cooperative multiplayer, like the previous three pieces of DLC before it.

The narrative of the title revolves around a civil war between the Hyperion Corporation and a huge army of homicidal Claptrap robots that are under the command of the Ninja Assassin, a Claptrap that is a kung-fu master.

“A year ago Borderlands was an untested brand that through hard work and a lot of passion, turned out to be one of the best-selling, claptastic and skagtacular games we have ever created,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K in a press release.

“A year later, we are releasing our fourth DLC installment, Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution , which illustrates our enthusiasm for creating highly entertaining content that enhances a franchise."

“In addition to serving as the perfect bookend to the original game, what gamer doesn’t love a kung-fu-wielding Ninja Assassin Claptrap with nunchuck skills?”

Claptrap's New Robot Revolution will offer over 20 new missions and many new types of enemies, like deadly Claptraps, Hyperion Soldiers and local creatures that have melded with the revolutionary robots like the crab-traps, rakk-traps and skag-traps. Varied and interesting boss battles have also been promised by the developers.

Ten more skill-points will be included, as well as three additional slots in the back-pack fore the billions of weapons available in Borderlands.

The piece of downloadable content will be available for 800 Microsoft Points in the Xbox Live Marketplace and for ten dollars on the PlayStation Network and the PC.
