New Character Profiles Added on Kivi's Underworld Web Page

Soldak Entertainment, the maker of one of the few hack-and-slash RPG titles for Mac, has updated the Characters page for Kivi's Underworld with a new set of entries. Some 16 characters are now described on the respective page, with more to come, according to Soldak.

Making the proper introductions, Soldak says, “There are over 20 different, playable characters in Kivi's Underworld. We are going to slowly reveal some of them here.”

The developer also warns readers that, since the player only knows about Kivi the Warrior at the beginning of the game, the characters' descriptions may be considered as somewhat of a spoiler. “You only know about Kivi the Warrior at the beginning of the game, so reading about any of the characters below might be minor spoilers,” the company states on its website.

One of the characters, whose description we have found most interesting, is Jelse, a Female Enchanter who didn't really plan on becoming one at first. However, “existence beyond death happened more regularly than most realized,” Soldak reveals.

“Her passion with ghost hunting led to successful encounters.  Life wouldn't forget her so easily, however; she still needed money to make her way in the world. Luckily, wraith after-matter enchantment turns a good coin.” Jelse holds a sword, has normal attributes and Powerup Enchantment and Weakness Aura.

In Kivi's Underworld, gamers can either take on the role of Kivi, a young lumen warrior who has to fight the unknown, or step in the shoes of any of the 20 playable characters with unique abilities and magic spells. They can also create new adventures, classes, and powerups within the title, or download some from the Internet.

According to Soldak Entertainment, Kivi's Underworld is meant to be played in 15-30-minute chunks, something that might not appeal to serious gamers. “Yes. We have broken the game up into separate adventures that last around 15 to 30 minutes each,” Soldak Entertainment's Steven Peeler stated in an interview. “So you can play one quick adventure, or you can keep playing as many adventures in a row that you want to.”
