Acer seems to be holding well onto its role as purveyor of various IT products, and it looks like its most recent move involved unleashing a certain monitor upon the European market.

Acer has been up to a lot of things lately, some of them revealed in press announcements and others in rumors and reports.

For one, it actually started selling, in the US and Canada, its not very common dual-display Iconia Touchbook laptop that uses a secondary touchscreen instead of a physical keyboard.

Also, it is rumored that there are plans for letting go of a number of workers at its facilities in China.

This all, of course, came in addition to such things as Aspire series laptops (7750 and 5750) and even PATA SSDs.

Now, the same outfit has stepped back from the slate, storage and PC segments in order to bring out a new addition to the worldwide display industry.

It has a diagonal length of 27 inches and a native resolutions of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, though this is hardly a surprise nowadays, what with Full HD support practically approaching true mainstream status.

For backlighting, Acer used the LED technology, meaning that the brightness and contrast are good even as power draw is reduced.

Speaking of image parameters, the dynamic contrast ratio (DCR) is a solid 100,000,000:1, better than that of most high-end models (and fitting the panel's role as gaming solution) while the brightness is 300 cd/m2.

That said, the viewing angles aren't too shabby, although not the very best either, at least as far as the vertical one goes (178/170 degrees horizontal/vertical).

Finally, the frame is black and boasts a stand with -5 to +15 degrees tilt support, while connectivity to host PCs is accomplished via HDMI, D-Sub and DVI connectors.

Online vendors in Europe should already have the H274H listed with the price of 299 Euro.
