The device sports a rather small touchscreen display

Watch-shaped phones seem to have become pretty popular lately, with LG showcasing the GD910 device, which comes with touchscreen capabilities, at CES 2009 and with similar handsets spotted during the MWC congress in Barcelona.

A new mobile phone to come in the same form factor is Neutrano's Nutec WristFone, which also brings touchscreen capabilities, yet featuring a rather small display. According to the news, the device is open for any GSM network, so it doesn't come tied to any mobile phone carrier. One thing that should be mentioned though is the fact that it sports a different style than what we were able to see with LG's watch phone.

The Nutec WristFone features the SIM card port right under the face of the watch. The company also says that it includes a 2-megapixel photo snapper that is placed on top of the face, which also sports video recording capabilities. Among the specifications of the handset we can also count Bluetooth connectivity and FM Radio, as well as a music player and audio recording capabilities.

The screen of the device sports a digital clock as screen saver. Although the phone is rather attractive, it comes with a feature that is rather surprising for such a model, namely a stylus. Given the fact that it comes with a rather small screen, the stylus should prove useful in the end, allowing users to cycle around the handset's interface. The WristFone's touch-command areas are tiny, and one might easily make mistakes when operating it.

On the other hand, the new watch-shaped mobile phone includes a battery that should be able to provide users with around 3-4 hours of talk time, as well as with up to 3 days of standby time. The price tag of the Neutrano Nutec WristFone has been set at $400, and the device is already available for purchase.
