Not long ago, a bunch of scientists said that aliens would feel most at home in Australia. It turns out they were wrong: the Netherlands is much more appealing to them.

A series of photos recently taken by 43-year-old Corinne Federer allegedly show a UFO flying over a castle near Amsterdam. One of the pictures is available next to this article.

What's interesting is that, after having a good look at the images, specialists decided that it was highly unlikely that they had been tampered with.

Otherwise put, there are high chances that something was indeed surfing the skies in the Netherlands, and that this something was caught on camera by Corinne Federer.

“The object’s appearance is internally consistent with the rest of the photo. For instance, look at the darker area of the underside of the object compared with the clouds. The shadowing is similar on the underside as well as the lighting on the top of the object and the clouds where the sun is brightest.”

“Having the sun in the frame is helpful because it indicates where shadows should appear. This further supports that the object was photographed ‘in-camera’ and not added later,” specialist Ben Hansen said, as cited by The Inquisitr.

Whether or not the object was a UFO or some other thing is a whole other story.

Unlike other photos or videos recorded using a phone or whatnot, Corinne Federer's images are HDR ones.

This means that they were taken using multiple exposures (five, to be more precise), all of which were shot at the same time and then overlapped to get a photo showing the full spectrum of light.

Despite admitting that, all things considered, the pictures are not fake, Ben Hansen emphasized that, from his standpoint, Corinne Federer's photos do not really show a UFO.

“If I had to place my money on it, I would say that we’re looking at insects. We typically see many wing protrusions on insect rod cases, but they do come in the single pair variety, too.”

“It all depends on the shutter speeds and motion of the insects.”
