NetQin Mobile, one of the world's leading mobile security software developers, unveiled its Android security solution, NetQin Anti-virus 4.2 Beta. The free application is compatible with smartphones running on the Android 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 platforms.

NetQin is an important mobile security software developer that holds 64.8% market share of China’s mobile security market and has received multiple awards during its five years of activity.

According to the developers, NetQin Anti-virus 4.2 Beta is the first global mobile application based on a cloud-security platform. The solution was designed to protect Android applications against viruses and malware.

The beta version includes new features such as “anti-lost” and contacts backup, both providing full protection for users' data.

The “Anti-Virus” feature of the software deletes the latest viruses, Trojans, spyware and malicious software to protect the Android device and the user's privacy.

The anti-virus program offers real-time protection, which detects threats and ensures that the device is safe during file transmission, network connections, as well as applications installation. A firewall provided within the software runs in the background to protect network traffic and privacy. The “Backup Contacts” is a general backup account, which enables users to backup and restore their contact information between Android, Symbian, iOS and Blackberry.

Another key feature of the anti-virus solution is called “Anti-lost.” It provides protection for financial and privacy leakage and uses remote control functions.

With the “Anti-lost” feature users can locate their lost phone, sound an alarm on it and even trace it.

All sensitive data stored on the phone can be completely deleted if users decide they cannot get back their lost/stolen phone. The process is done via simple remote commands sent to the phone.

NetQin Anti-virus 4.2 Beta for Android is available as a free download from Softpedia and the Android Market.
