The NPD Group has published the video game sales chart for the month of June, showcasing the solid lineup of Take-Two Interactive, which occupies the first two spots, with L.A. Noire, once again in the number one spot after last month, and Duke Nukem Forever, while the PlayStation 3 exclusive Infamous 2 rounds off the podium.

The NPD Group released its sales charts today, both for hardware consoles as well as for video games, while highlighting that total revenues were at $1.03 billion, a drop from the $1.15 billion one year ago, while the software sales recorded the biggest decrease, of 12 percent, from $531.3 million last year to $$469.5 million.

Still, this didn't stop Take-Two Interactive from making a proverbial killing in June, as both L.A. Noire, published in partnership with Rockstar Games, and Duke Nukem Forever, released under the 2K Games label, managed to seize the first two spots, thanks to the combined sales recorded on consoles, for L.A. Noire, and on the PC as well as consoles, in the case of Duke Nukem Forever.

The number three spot is occupied by Infamous 2, the PlayStation 3 exclusive which, according to Sony is the best-selling SKU (version of a game) for the month.

Disney also had a pretty good month of June with Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game, which appeared for a large amount of platforms and occupied the number four spot.

Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is fifth, no doubt falling victim to the relatively small number of existing Nintendo 3DS owners.

The perennial Call of Duty: Black Ops and NBA 2K11 are next, in sixth and seventh, proving that there are still quite a few gamers out there who didn't buy them already.

At number 8, the new Mortal Kombat game stays strong, while two more casual titles, Cars 2 and Just Dance 2, round off the top ten list, which you can find out below, via Gama Sutra.

1. L.A. Noire (Take Two, 360, PS3) 2. Duke Nukem Forever (Take Two, 360, PS3, PC) 3. Infamous 2 (Sony, PS3) 4.
