It's been a few weeks since we last came across some display solution from NEC, but it looks like the company's really willing to make up for its “absence” by introducing no less than three new entry-level installation projectors, included in the company's brand-new P Series, that targets integration environments such as corporate boardrooms, higher education classrooms and government training rooms. The models in question, namely the P350X, P350W and P420X projectors, deliver quite a good level of brightness, namely 3,500 lumens (P350X/P350W) and 4,200 lumens (P420X), as well as impressive lamp and filter lives, of up to 5,000 hours.

The projectors also deliver some pretty good native resolutions (XGA for the P350X and P420X, WXGA for the P350W), and come equipped with HDMI, dual computer and USB inputs, the latter allowing the projectors to display images stored onto USB storage media directly, without the need for a computer.

Additional features worth mentioning include the Autosense function, that intuitively syncs the projector with most computer signals, as well as a Virtual Remote (DDC/CI), enabling users to control the projector directly from a computer without the need for additional control cables.

The projectors from NEC also pack a 10-watt speaker, offer Windows Vista & Windows 7 and support video transmission up to and including 720p over the network.

“We have included features in this projector series that not only exceed the needs of education and corporate users but enhance the user experience with practical and easy-to-use functionality,” said Rich McPherson, Product Manager of projectors for NEC Display Solutions.

“The P Series provides users with everything they need from built-in technologies and extended connectivity to energy-saving features and advanced networking capabilities,” Mr. McPherson added.

According to NEC, their P350X, P350W and P420X projectors will be available in February 2011 at an estimated street price of $1,649, $1,799 and $1,999, respectively.
