Although she has no issues with talking to the media herself about having surgery to remove fibroids from her uterus, Nadya Suleman can get extremely upset when her own mother does. In a recent press statement released to Radar Online, the 33-year-old OctoMom blasts her own mother for revealing details on the surgery to the tabloids, claiming she can’t have her privacy respected anymore – not even by her own relatives.

As we reported a while back, Suleman was diagnosed with fibroids, a condition that, apparently, was also the reason why she could not become pregnant naturally. Doctors told her that surgery was needed to have them removed and, consequently, she agreed, despite telling the media that she was completely terrified for her life and might not be able to have children ever again. Now that her mother also spoke to the media on the same issue, Suleman is lamenting the loss of her privacy.

“I’m completely shocked that my mother would openly discuss something so personal to the media, such as me hemorrhaging. It’s the epitome of disrespect and for all she knew, I could have gone into shock and died. Why would she disclose something so personal? You’re supposed to be able to trust family, apparently I can’t. I can’t trust my mother.” Suleman tells Radar about the brief interview that her mother recently gave on her fibroids surgery.

This is not the first time that Suleman speaks out against having her personal life put on display in the tabloids and celebrity magazines, although she could easily be said to be her most vivid “supporter” in this sense. A couple of days ago, Nadya said that she would do anything to provide for her children – and, in the given circumstances, that meant doing the media rounds with exclusive interviews and television deals to make money. As far as she was concerned, though, personally, she did not like the attention and believed she could easily do without it.

“What’s going on now is I feel obligated – almost compelled – to earn a living to take care of my kids. I was kind of catapulted into this, oblivious to my choices. Do I like attention – the inordinate attention that’s not even warranted because I’m not a celebrity, a ‘pseudo-celebrity?’ I don’t. I absolutely don’t. But I have to do what I have to do to take care of them.” Suleman was revealing for Radar (a media outlet with which she has presumably signed an exclusivity agreement) a couple of days ago.
