BioWare has decided to unlock the multiplayer component in the Mass Effect 3 demo earlier than expected, allowing those who got the demo on the PC, PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 to try out the Galaxy at War cooperative mode.

Millions of Mass Effect fans were treated with a great demo earlier this week, when BioWare allowed fans to experience two missions from the single-player campaign. Those who bought and activated a copy of Battlefield 3 also got access to the multiplayer mode in the demo, which was supposed to stay locked for the rest of the world until later today.

Fortunately for those who didn’t get Battlefield 3, the multiplayer portion of the demo is now available to everyone, as BioWare decided to let people access it earlier than anticipated.

We’ve already posted our own impressions of the multiplayer Galaxy at War mode from the Mass Effect 3 demo and were quite pleased with the intense co-op action it delivered.

In case you want to try it out for yourself, you need to download the demo for Mass Effect on the PC, via Origin, PS3, via PSN, or Xbox 360, via the Xbox Live.
