“He's not doing cartwheels,” she says when asked about her latest project

Of all the celebrities we might have expected to see in a reality show, Clint Eastwood would have been the unlikeliest choice. As his family's series is about to premiere on E!, wife Dina admits that he's not thrilled she took up the project.

As we also noted a while back, chances are good that the legendary actor and director did not agree to the family's reality show but was eventually “forced” to sign off on it because they pressured him into it.

In a new interview with Star magazine (quotes via CB), Dina half-confirms this, saying that Clint isn't really happy with the show but has consented to it after being told he wouldn't be in it too much.

“He’s not doing cartwheels, but we’ve been married for 16 years. He knew what he was getting into,” Dina tells the magazine in its latest print issue.

At the same time, she insists Clint would only be making occasional appearances because, as noted in the statement E! put out when the show was confirmed, it's all about her, her daughters and her business endeavors.

“He appears in episodes because he’s a good husband, but none focus on our marriage. It’s about me being a haggard mom,” Dina tells the publication.

“Mrs. Eastwood & Company” tries to focus on Dina's life as mother and manager of the boy band Overtone, while also showing how her and Clint's two daughters are struggling to get their start in showbiz.

“I went to South Africa with Clint for Invictus. I heard them sing, and I’ve been their momager for three years. They’ve lived with us off and on,” Dina says of Ovetone.

Asked whether she's worried about having her daughters share the same house as the “hunky” boys, Dina insists she has zero reason to fret about that.

“There’s no sneaking around. Clint has faith in me and the kids. I’m the sergeant; he’s the lover. He’s like, 'Oh, let the gals have fun',” Dina further says.

Unfortunately, judging by the first reviews of the new show, “fun” is the last thing viewers will be having.

As the LA Times so wonderfully puts it, if Dina and her two daughters were not related to Clint, “there would be Absolutely No Reason to watch this, which, by reality show standards, promises to be tame to the point of sedation.”
