One of the most anticipated RPGs is finally coming

Mount & Blade, the role playing game title that made so many people go crazy several years ago with its realistic horse-riding and fighting sequences, is finally going to be released, after completing the beta-stage (which also lasted several years). The game, developed by TaleWorlds Entertainment, will be published by Paradox Interactive on the 19th of September 2008 in Europe. I'm sure that's one piece of great news for all the RPG fans out there!

One of the main reasons that created such hype on Mount & Blade was the fact that it proved realistic horse riding and horse combat was possible, even though everybody else was stating that it's not. However, this happened a few years ago and since then everybody changed his mind - we even had quite a few RPG titles allowing us to ride horses, so Mount & Blade was kind of left behind.

But this did not matter for the developers (or for the hardcore fans), who kept working on the game, fixing bugs and creating a great product. Its time has come!

The game is a single player (with no multiplayer options, unfortunately) action/role playing title focusing especially on medieval combat. The game offers a free-form sandbox gameplay (something like a medieval GTA) where you are allowed to go anywhere and do anything you wish. You can be a lonesome adventurer, a rich merchant or a commander of huge armies - it's all up to you. However, the most important feature remains the distinctive horseback combat which allows you to fight against your enemies with swords, lances and arrows. And everybody who got the chance to test the game said that it indeed offered a realistic experience.

Mount & Blade will be available for purchase in stores and for digital download at GamersGate, starting the 19th of September, so you'd better be ready, because it's time we go medieval!
