Mobile phone maker Motorola has just announced the release of a new device on the market in South Korea, namely the MOTO GLAM. The new Motorola phone was launched on shelves with premium features, being another high-end device the company launches in Korea after the Motorola MOTOROI, or the MOTO QRTY. The same as most of the company's latest handsets, the new device is powered by Google's Android operating system.

The specifications list of the new device includes a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that can boast a 480 x 854 pixel resolution and support for multi-touch gestures, complemented by a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, dual LED flash and 720p video recording capabilities, and a very appealing exterior design.

The new mobile phone also comes to the market with 1GB of NAND Flash and with 512MB of SDRAM, in addition to an 8GB microSD memory card included in the package via the memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space. A nice range of connectivity options are also included in the package, such as Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g), USB 2.0 and an HDMI socket, not to mention the 3.5mm headset jack.

The new MOTO GLAM runs under Google's Android 2.1 operating system and packs a nice range of multimedia features, as the company's launch site shows. The MOTO GLAM is powered by a 1390 mAh battery, measures 61.8 x 120 x 11.6 mm and weighs in at 136.5 grams with the battery inside. The phone comes with support for location-based services courtesy of its built-in GPS receiver, while offering great communications capabilities.

According to the news, it should be put on sale in the country via SK Telecom before the end of August. Unfortunately, no specific details on the pricing of the new MOTO GLAM emerged, nor on the mobile phone's possible launch in more markets around the world. However, since Motorola did launched previous handsets in more countries, chances are that it would do the same with the new Android-based smartphone.
