Motorola XOOM, the first tablet PC that mobile phone maker Motorola Mobility officially announced with Google's Android operating system on board, is listed as available for pre-order at Best Buy with a price tag of $799.99 attached to it.

According to the retailer, the device is available only for in store pre-order, and those interested in reserving one should head over to the closes Best Buy location to reserve one device.

The device, running under Google's Android 3.0 Honeycomb platform, arrives in the United States with support for Verizon Wireless' network.

The Best Buy listing does not confirm only the price tag for this tablet PC, but also offers info on the availability day of the device. It should hit Best Buy stores on Thursday, February 24th, the retailer states.

“Surf, watch, play and connect lightning fast with the world's first tablet to run Android 3.0, the OS designed specifically for tablets. Experience the best in multimedia and multitask with ease and PC-like performance,” Best Buy notes on its website.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Motorola XOOM is a 10.1-inch tablet PC powered by a dual-core application processor.

The tablet PC arrives on shelves with 3G connectivity on board, with support for Verizon's CDMA network. Moreover, it should be upgradeable to 4G LTE in the near future.
