Motorola is set to launch the XOOM in Taiwan and South Korea next month. While the tablet is already available for pre-orders in Taiwan for NT$19,980 (about $678), South Koreans will be able to reserve the XOOM in April. It looks like the unlocked Taiwanese version of the XOOM is $120 cheaper than the unit available in the U.S at Verizon. However, Verizon is also offering the tablet for $599.99 with a new two-year contract, which might sound like a better choice for potential customers.

Furthermore, the tablet is expected to be available on the Taiwanese market on April 20, while SK Telecom, the carrier that will exclusively retail the XOOM in South Korea is yet to announce its price and release date.

The South Korean carrier also pointed out that it would be selling LG’s first Honeycomb-powered tablet Optimus Pad in the country, also known as the G-Slate in U.S.

Like most tablets announced, the XOOM lacks GSM voice communication capabilities; instead, it offers a wide range of connectivity features such as HSDPA and HSUPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and EDR support, as well as microUSB 2.0 and built-in GPS.

Thanks to the 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 AP20H dual core CPU, the tablet is capable of the latest games and apps especially developed for this kind of processor.

Motorola XOOM has a large 10.1-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 800 x 1280 pixels resolution. It packs 32 GB of internal memory, 1 GB RAM, as well as a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

It is worth mentioning that the tablet was confirmed to be compatible with Adobe Flash, but the feature was not available at launch. Motorola provided XOOM users with a software update earlier this month.
