The tablet will soon be available from Orange as well

Motorola has finally released the XOOM 2 in Israel. Officially unveiled back in December, the XOOM 2 is now available for purchase from Cellcom for 85 ILS (23 USD or 17 EUR) including VAT with a new three-year agreement, and a discount of 40 ILS (11 USD or 8 EUR) for the surfing package.

Customers who do not want to commit to a long-term contract can purchase the Motorola XOOM 2 from authorized resellers for 3,690 ILS (975 USD or 745 EUR) including VAT. Moreover, the tablet will soon be offered by Orange as well.

Although the slate comes with Android 3.2 Honeycomb on board, Motorola already confirmed plans to upgrade the XOOM 2 to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich by the end of the year.

The selling point of the tablet is the fact that it supports both 3G and Wi-Fi capabilities. In addition, Motorola XOOM 2 packs a large 10.1-inch widescreen HD capacitive touchscreen display, which supports 800 x 1280 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

In the hardware front, the XOOM 2 offers users a powerful dual-core 1.2 GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor, along with a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit.

It also embeds 16GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM, but there’s the microSD card slot for memory expansion has yet to be confirmed.

The XOOM 2 drains battery from a 7000 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 10 hours of continuous usage.
