Motorola Triumph, the first Android-based mobile phone from Motorola set to hit the shelves at Virgin Mobile, is expected to become available for purchase on July 19th, and leading retailer Best Buy seems to have confirmed it.

The mobile phone was already rumored to be on its way to the market at this wireless carrier on that day, but nothing was specifically confirmed on the matter, although Virgin Mobile already went official with plans to launch it.

Last week, the Motorola Triumph was put on pre-order status via Best Buy, for only $299, free of contract, but with no release date attached to it either.

However, it seems that those who pre-ordered the device were already informed on its availability of July 19th, as can be seen in the screenshot below (available courtesy of Phandroid).

The affordable smartphone will certainly prove a great addition to Virgin Mobile's lineup, especially since it is the first Android-based device to make it to the prepay carrier.

However, although a great option for those looking for affordable options without having to commit to a contract agreement, the handset still packs a series of appealing features.

For starters, we should note that it comes with a 4.1-inch touchscreen display, along with a fast 1GHz application processor that can deliver increased performance levels.

Moreover, the phone's specifications list includes a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for HD video recording, along with a front-facing camera to enable video calling while on the go.

Other specifications of the new device include a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, along with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS receiver, and support for 3G networks.

The handset is powered by Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, and also offers support for various Google Mobile services, as well as access to the Android Market for downloading and installing applications and games.
