Mobile phone maker Motorola has already delivered to the market a series of devices powered by Google's Android operating system, and it seems that it will launch some more during the ongoing year. At the same time, the company will also launch some feature phones, and there are also chances that it will unveil a handset powered by Microsoft's newly announced Windows Phone 7 Series by the end of 2010.

According to a recent article on pocketnow, the company reaffirmed its focus on handsets powered by the Android platform for the rest of 2010. However, when asked about the possibility that other OSes might also be used on future devices, such as Windows Phone 7, Motorola said that it “isn't ruling out any possibilities” for “the end of the year,” the news site reports.

As most of you might already know, Motorola was a Windows Mobile licensee once, yet there are no details on whether it returns to Microsoft's mobile platform. On the other hand, the possibility that Motorola might indeed launch handsets powered by Windows Phone 7 OS exists, especially since Microsoft announced that the first devices powered by the mobile client would land in time for the holiday season.

At the moment, Motorola seems focused more on Google's Android than on other operating systems on the market. The first such handset was launched in the third quarter of the last year, the Motorola CLIQ, and it marked the company's reemergence on the market. Moreover, Motorola managed to attract all eyes on it with the launch of DROID / MILESTONE, a device available in the US on Verizon Wireless' airwaves, and the first ever to sport the Android 2.0 platform.

A return to Microsoft's mobile operating system won't mark a drawback for Motorola, that's for sure. With Windows Phone 7, the Redmond-based software giant Microsoft has switched the focus to a more appealing user experience, and Motorola was also rumored at one point to plan launching Windows Phones only after the release of Windows Phone 7.

It would be really interesting to see the competition between Google Android, Apple OS and Microsoft Windows Phone 7 series as each one of them is making efforts to attract more and more mobile phone manufacturers. But one thing I would like to ask is that does it affect the credibility of the cell phone manufacturers for the OS developers when they shift from one OS system to another?
