Shortly after introducing the RAZR HD in Mexico, Motorola Mobility and Telcel announced the immediate availability of another Android smartphone, the RAZR i.

Just like the RAZR HD, the Intel-based RAZR i is exclusive to Telcel and, for a limited time, it will be available for free with Telcel 500 Plus Plan. Customers who want to take advantage of this offer should know that the promotional deal runs through November 21.

“Motorola RAZR i fulfills this commitment and it enables customers to access our Telcel networks with unbeatable coverage and speed,” said Marco Quatorze, value-added services director, America Movil and Telcel.

Motorola RAZR i is powered by Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich platform out of the box, but the US-based handset maker confirmed the smartphone will receive a Jelly Bean upgrade in the following months.

Furthermore, the RAZR i is equipped with a single-core Intel Atom processor clocked at 2 GHz, which is complemented by a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Although the phone packs 8GB of internal memory, only 5GB are available for users. Luckily, the RAZR i features microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Another strong point of the Motorola RAZR i is the 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

“An instant launch camera that takes 10 pictures in less than a second and Web pages that load blazingly fast on a device that’s the perfect balance of screen size that fits in the palm of your hand. RAZR i delivers all of this, as well the first Intel-fast processor in Latin America in a beautifully designed phone with extra-long battery life,” said Silvina González, marketing director, Motorola Mobility Mexico.

Last but not least, the smartphone sports a hyper-vibrant 4.3-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.
