Slowly but surely, the Motorola Olympus is revealing to us all of its secrets, even if no official announcement on it was made for the time being. The Android-based handset was made another appearance on the Internet, this time in a series of high resolution photos, leaving us wanting more.

Motorola might not make a formal announcement on this device before early 2011, but, until that happens, we can have a look at the new photos available with the device, as well as at the leaked specifications that made it on the web lately.

In case there are some who might have not encountered the Olympus before, we should note that this is expected to be the first high-end Android-based device that Motorola would bring to the United States market via AT&T.

If you were wondering how high-end the Olympus would be, we should note that it would pack a Tegra 2 chipset from Nvidia, with a dual core-processor included into the mix.

Sporting model number MB860, the mobile phone is said to be running under Android 2.2 Froyo at the moment, though it might arrive on shelves with another OS flavor on board.

Motorola's unannounced new flagship Android device is expected to make an appearance on shelves at AT&T sometime in January, though it remains to be seen what exactly would Motorola announce on it.

For the time being, we should have a look at the photos and info that emerged over at Gizmodo, which cites a tipster stating that the device in itself is “a pretty cool phone.”

When made available for purchase, the Motorola Olympus is expected to pack a HDMI port, as well as a microUSB port, and a forward-facing camera.

Another photo snapper would be placed on the phone's back, capable of shooting at a higher resolution both photos and videos, while the screen should be larger than 3.7-inches, though no info on the specific size emerged for the time being.

All in all, the Olympus is shaping up as a great device, and the photos available courtesy of Gizmodo prove just that.
