Mobile phone maker Motorola, Inc. announced on Wednesday that William Ogle, who used to be Chief Marketing Officer for Samsung Telecommunications America, had been appointed to occupy the same position within the company. William Ogle will be in charge of the marketing and branding activities at the company's Mobile Devices unit. All the marketing, advertising, interactive marketing and brand strategy, management and execution processes will be his responsibility, and he will report to Sanjay Jha, Motorola’s co-chief executive officer and CEO of Mobile Devices, the company added.

“I am extremely pleased to have someone of Bill’s caliber and creative talent joining the Motorola team,” Jha said. “His proven record of implementing successful sales and marketing campaigns with global brands such as Samsung and Pizza Hut will be a real asset for Motorola. This is a pivotal time for Motorola’s Mobile Devices business, and I look forward to working with Bill as we prepare to launch an enhanced portfolio of exciting new products in the later half of 2009 and beyond.”

Motorola also stated that Ogle had an impressive experience of almost 20 years in the area of consumer branding and product marketing. In addition, the phone maker also noted that he also had a great knowledge of the mobile device industry due to his previous experience with Samsung Mobile. Moreover, he had a vast experience in the marketing area due to his work at Pizza Hut; in his 12 years there, he worked as chief marketing officer and chief concept development officer, and he helped repositioning the brand and boosted sales.

William Ogle also expressed his enthusiasm regarding his joining Motorola, mainly due to the fact that he considered the company as being an innovative one, with a great history and technology achievements in the telecommunications area. “I look forward to working with Sanjay and the entire Mobile Devices' management team on launching its compelling new portfolio and driving the brand into the future.”
