Unveiled earlier this month, Motorola ET1 enterprise tablet has just made its debut in Asia and is now available for order via Motorola Solutions site.

Due to the fact that the tablet is aimed at business customers, the manufacturer has yet to reveal more details about the tablet's price.

However, according to the latest hearsay, the tablet is priced at less than $1000 (715 EUR) when purchased in large quantities.

Aside its business-oriented features, the ET1 includes enhanced durability, an optional barcode scanner and magnetic stripe reader, hot-swappable battery packs, and secure system software.

A multi-slot recharging station is also available for the ET1, but Motorola has yet to specify if the accessory is delivered with the tablet or if it's sold separately.

The ET1 will give enterprise users the familiar experience of a consumer tablet in a sleek package, with all the enterprise must-haves such as applications, durability, security, device management whether they are from retail, logistics, supply-chain, healthcare or other industry segments,” said Phey Teck Moh, Corporate Vice President, Motorola Solutions Asia Pacific.

Motorola ET1 enterprise tablet is Wi-Fi-enabled and password-protected for easy sharing according to every user's access rights.

In addition, the tablet is delivered with a range of productivity apps, such as Assisted selling, Mobile point of sale (mPOS), Manager electronic dashboards, Planogram management and compliance and Item locator.

According to Motorola, the ET1 runs an enterprise-ready hardened version of the Android Gingerbread operating system, which is especially designed to be used full time by multiple users.

The ET1 comes with a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen that is protected by Gorilla Glass display, while “the screen bezel can be customized to match the retailer's brand.”

It also sports dual cameras, hot-swappable rechargeable battery pack, with memory back-up battery to retain RAM data for up to 15 minutes, as well as optional hand strap for comfortable handling.
