Mobile phone maker Motorola and wireless carrier T-Mobile plan on delivering to the market a successor for Cliq, the first handset from Motorola launched with Google's Android operating system on board, namely the Motorola Cliq XT. The handset was officially unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and is expected to become available for purchase in the United States as soon as March 10 is here.

The Motorola Cliq XT was previously spotted in the wild as Zeppelin, and was officially announced to be on its way to markets all around the world as the Motorola Quench, with T-Mobile USA being the only carrier to have it as Cliq XT. This is the first Android device from Motorola to sport the company's MotoBlur solution without having it coupled with a QWERTY keyboard, it seems. At the same time, we should also mention that the handset runs under the Android 1.5 flavor of Google's OS.

The specifications list of the phone include a 3.1 “high-resolution” touchscreen display, coupled with a 5-megapixel digital camera, navigation touchpad, dual-mic noise cancellation system, “pinch and zoom” touch capabilities, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity options, and a great deal of other feature and specs too. Among them, we can also count the Connected Media Player, which seems to be shaping up into an appealing entertainment solution for users.

The handset itself looks rather appealing, and, although no official details on its price tag emerged for the time being, it should come as a rather affordable device when put on sale on March 10. The guys over at MobileBurn managed to put their hands on a Cliq XT and gave the Connected Media Player a spin, while reporting that the solution works pretty nice. Among the features they report on, we can count the ability to pull album art and lyrics, shoutcast radio support, or TuneWiki mapping.
