The company has already sent out test invitations to users

Motorola appears set to make the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system available for as many of its users as possible, with DROID 4 supposedly set to receive the update soon, after DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX already started seeing it.

Apparently, the company has just kicked off a new soak test for the DROID 4 and, although it doesn’t specifically state that this is the Jelly Bean update that users were waiting for, it might begin pushing the new platform release to a select few shortly.

The soak test is meant to ensure that the update has been properly baked, and that the deployment will run smoothly for users, and is usually a clear indicator that a new software release is set to become available for all users soon.

Only members of the Moto Feedback Network are invited to the soak test for the time being, yet none of them was informed on the availability of Jelly Bean, it seems.

However, Motorola has already added a new thread to its forums, one that is meant for discussion regarding the Jelly Bean OS flavor for DROID 4, which could suggest that the aforementioned software update is indeed this platform release and none other, Droid-life suggests.

There, the company is providing users with info on how to use the correct IMEI / MEID numbers attached to their devices so as to receive the new update.

“We'll use this thread for our forum members to check in for information that may be beneficial to them to aid in preparing their Droid 4 for the installation of OTA Jelly Bean on their phones as well as any other pertinent information that may come along,” Motorola notes in said forum.

Previously, Motorola confirmed that Jelly Bean was coming to DROID 4 as well, yet the company did not provide a specific release timeframe for the upgrade.
