Warner Bros. Interactive, the publisher of the recently launched Mortal Kombat fighting game, has announced that it will make the four pieces of downloadable content that will be launched on the Xbox 360 available for a reduced price for those who pick up a Season Pass.

The new Pass is set to cost 1200 Microsoft Points, which is the equivalent of 15 dollars, and is available for those interested since June 21.

Those who pick it up will be able to immediately fire up Mortal Kombat and download a new fighter called Skarlet and will also get access to two new announced combatants, Rain and Kenshi.

There's also a fourth mysterious fighter that will be coming to Mortal Kombat via DLC pack.

Each of the four new characters costs 400 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360, meaning that those who get the Season Pass esentially get one new character for free using the new Microsoft only deal.

The four fighters are also prepared for launched on the PlayStation 3 home console for Sony, where each of them will cost 5 dollars, but apparently the Season Pass is not being developed for the device.

The tradition so far has been for publishers to group all DLC launched for a game after it is actually released and slap a lower price on the package but it seems that publishers are now also looking to get the money for a lot of content in advance and then slowly put it out to keep up the interest of gamers.

Rockstar did something similar earlier in the month with its own Pass system, which will allow gamers to get DLC that is worth 20 dollars for just 12.

EA Sports is also experimenting with a Pass system but it is not linked to getting DLC for its sports simulation but allows gamers to engage in multiplayer matches with their friends.
