The N85 looks a lot like the N96

Nokia N85, the unannounced yet Nseries smartphone, has been recently spotted in new live images that confirm (once again) its existence.

These new images are not of the best quality, but they are enough for us to see that the N85 does not look at all different from the N96, of which we know about everything there is to know. Of course, the two Nseries handsets most probably resemble only when it comes to design, since in terms of features those of N85 will probably not match the ones of the N96 (which is, by far, the most advanced Nokia smartphone to date). Moreover, the N85 might not have the dual-sliding form factor of the N96, but this is an aspect that we can't be sure of for the moment.

Although its was said that Nokia would unveil two new Nseries handsets today, August 25, the Finnish company will actually do it tomorrow, August 26. This date appears on the Nokia Events website, so there will surely be a presentation of "something" tomorrow.

As far as rumors go, the Finnish giant will come up with the mentioned N85 and the N79 - a handset that was recently cloned by a Chinese manufacturer - way ahead their commercial availability.

Since they are part of the Nseries family, both the N79 and N85 should bring lots of high-end features. It is already known that the handsets pack photo cameras with Carl Zeiss optics, auto focus and flash. Moreover, the N85 apparently also has GPS and Wi-Fi - features that are considered "a must" for any high-end mobile phone of 2008.

Anyway, the true capabilities of the new Nseries smartphones will only be known when Nokia unveils them. Whether or not this will happen tomorrow, we're about to see. Until then, some blurry shots of the N85 are all we have to share:
