To be released during this year

It's very odd how information about random devices slips long before the handsets are released or officially announced by the manufacturers.

But people always want to find out more about new and interesting phones and don't have the patience to wait until the manufacturer finally decides to give us a little bit of information.

There's no way to tell whether this leaked info on some of the new HTC handhelds, the Sirius, Erato and Wings, is genuine, but time and time again, rumors proved to reveal the actual specs of phones that were announced even months later.

The HTC Sirius, also known as P6500, is said to be a quad band handset coming with WiFi and EDGE support, Windows Mobile 6, a Samsung processor running at 400MHz, a 3.5 inch screen with a QVGA resolution, 256MB RAM and 64MB ROM. For more detailed specs, go here.

The Erato, which is considered to be the successor of Star Trek, comes in a clamshell form factor, weighs 99 grams and packs a 2.4 inch screen, the same Samsung processor running at 400MHz and Windows Mobile 6 OS, support for UMTS, HSDPA, FM Radio receiver, built-in GPS chip and 2 megapixel camera.

Which brings us to the Wings, dubbed S730, which comes with the same processor, OS, connectivity, screen, camera and GPS as the Sirius, except it also packs WiFi and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Rumors continue with release dates as follows: Sirius in August, Erato in April and Wings in July.

Since April is not that far away, it won't take that long until we find out if the Erato will actually be then released with the specs that were mentioned here.
