Witnesses described that the driver hit his head inside the vehicle, steering the truck off track and into the crowd.

The incident took place before an air show scheduled for the day. Authorities have canceled the show after the horrific crash, Daily Mail reported.

Daniel Dominguez, 18, detailed seeing the driver losing his helmet after striking his head on something inside the truck.

Dominguez's family were also watching the show, and his sister's legs were crushed. She has undergone surgery on both legs.

However, Carlos Gonzalez, speaking for the Chihuahua state prosecutor's officer, states that officials are looking into mechanical failure as the cause of the accident.

Another source mentioned that driver and stuntman Francisco Velazquez may have been drinking, as police smelled alcohol in his breath.
