Huawei U550 was presented almost a month ago at this year's edition of CommunicAsia. The clamshell is especially designed for providing evolved music listening solutions. Its main feature is the included MP3 player and a large number of multimedia performances. Other capabilities also include HSDPA data transfer, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, along with support for the main media file types.
The music player will bring considerably easy access to its functions through a backlit three-button MobileTouch interface. With this new capability, the user will not have to open the clamshell in order to handle its functions, but manipulate the controls through the outer buttons. There will be easier access to the play, pause, fast forward and rewind controls, which will make this mobile phone easier to handle and more comfortable to use.
The handset's new performance only comes as a natural response to the needs of mobile phone users nowadays. "As multimedia content on mobile phones increases, intelligently designed interface controls become more critical. Using our MobileTouch solution, Huawei has created a convenient and easy-to-use interface for mobile music integrated into the stylish industrial design of the phone", commented Joe Virginia, vice president of marketing and handheld business unit for Synaptics.
With the Synaptics interface, Huawei U550 will benefit from a sleeker and thinner design, as well as from an increased functionality. Producers of this mobile phone have been showing it off to us for some time now. There is still no word on the date when it will be available or on the price that it will come at.
