Last time we reported MobileMe's status, Apple had identified and resolved an issue with MobileMe Sync on iPhone and iPod touch. Some problems, however, are still waiting to be solved. Therefore, Apple has again extended users' subscriptions by two extra months. Read on for an excerpt from the company's e-mail to customers and details on eligibility for the extension.

We have already made many improvements to MobileMe, but we still have many more to make. To recognize our users' patience, we are giving every MobileMe subscriber as of today a free 60 day extension. This is in addition to the one month extension most subscribers have already received. We are working very hard to make MobileMe a great service we can all be proud of. We know that MobileMe's launch has not been our finest hour, and we truly appreciate your patience as we turn this around. [...] The MobileMe Team

Now, if you were wondering whether you were eligible for the extension, or not, Apple can clear it out for you easily. The company says that you are eligible if you are a MobileMe member whose account was active as of August 19, 2008 at 0:00 Pacific Daylight Time. If you were in your free trial period on August 19 at 0:00 Pacific Daylight Time, your free trial will be extended an additional 60 days. Ultimately, your 60-day extension will be applied to your account within the following days, while you can check your account page on me.com to see when and if the changes are applied.

This is the second time Apple grants subscriber extension periods. On July 16th, Apple extended users' accounts by 30 days. Those users, if eligible, now have a full three months of free MobileMe to enjoy, provided the service doesn't give them more headaches.
