Mobile-software developer VISIARC and the Symbian Foundation have recently announced the launch of a new software solution for the users of Symbian-based mobile phones, the Mobile Documents. The new solution comes as a unique, subscription-based, streaming email application for these handsets, and includes appealing features, offering users an increased convenience.

According to the two companies, the new application is designed to deliver a streamed access to emails, becoming this way the first such solution that eliminates the inconvenience and data costs that were associated with the downloading of large emails and attachments. At the same time, Mobile Documents provides instant access to files located on remote servers, enabling users to attach them and then send them with a single click.

“Mobile Documents changes the way we access mail on the go and without all of the roaming or downloading costs,” Lee M. Williams, executive director of the Symbian Foundation, explains. “We’re proud to see innovative developers harness the power of the Symbian OS to create productivity apps that transform mobile processes. These guys are a great new addition to our member community.”

The new software solution will also provide users with push notification, as well as an easy access to emails or documents no matter where they are located, something that translates into time and cost savings. According to the developing team, the new application will offer mobile-phone users a rich experience, and those interested in learning how it works can find video demonstrations of the solution on the company's website.

Symbian’s open platform allowed us to achieve our goal of creating a dynamic app that modernizes mobile email,” Peter Lindgren, CEO of VISIARC, states. “We look forward to tapping into the capabilities of the Symbian^4 platform and discovering even more ways to enhance email services for consumers.” The app is available for download on Symbian phones from the company's website, as well as from Softpedia, via this link.
