At the Billboard Music Awards 2013, Miguel got a bit carried away during his live performance, jumping from one stage to another and accidentally landing on a female fan’s neck because of an obvious miscalculation of the length of the jump. The fan, Khyati Shah, may have suffered brain damage.

Over the weekend, the girl’s attorney told the press that she’d been feeling unwell since she got leg dropped at the awards show, and that she might consider suing if tests indicated she had suffered serious injuries in the incident.

As it turns out, she probably did, her attorney tells TMZ.

“Some of the difficulties she's experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury,” Vip Bhloa explains.

“Bhola says BMA responded to the accident with a pathetic gesture – an ice pack designed to soothe a bruised elbow. The attorney insists his client should have been rushed to the hospital,” the aforementioned media outlet writes.

Shah and Bhola are now waiting for test results from the neurologists and, once they’re in, sometime next week, they will weigh in their legal options.

In a separate post, TMZ writes that Miguel had been warned by the BMA organizers not to make the jump because it was too risky but he simply shrugged off the warning and did as he pleased.

“When showtime came around, Miguel blew off the order and producers' fears were realized when he botched the jump and leg dropped a female fan, slamming her head against the stage,” the celebrity publication writes.

Video of the leg drop is embedded below. Other videos are available online, of Miguel and Shah backstage after he slammed her head against the stage, and she seems pretty out of it even though she insists she’s ok.

As her attorney says, she is, indeed, holding an ice pack to her elbow.
