More games will arrive for this service

The current state of PC gaming isn't the best, but with the PC Gaming Alliance posting decent revenues and more and more companies joining the non-profit organization, things are looking up. Also, we've seen two of the biggest online services for the old platform, Steam and Games for Windows Live, receive new features among which the anti-piracy measures hold the top spot.

Even though Microsoft presented the fresh features that would arrive to its service, a lot of people began to wonder why the Redmond giant hadn't published more titles for this platform. Some of the latest PC titles created by the company were just ports of successful games for the original Xbox and Xbox 360, like Halo 2 or Gears of War. But new things will come from Microsoft, as Games for Windows' Dave Luehmann told Gamasutra.

“We've got several titles in development right now, both internally developed and with external partners. We're here at GDC negotiating another [sic] deals, and we're here at GDC looking for other content partners. I'd say our position in Windows over the last six months has gone from a steady state, to a dip from a point of view of the press, but realistically we're putting more money into Windows games than we have in quite a while.”

So, it seems that Microsoft will take PC gaming much more seriously and at least try to bring new stuff to the platform. Hopefully, some PC ports of Fable II, Gears of War 2 or Halo 3 might appear in the near future, despite the statements made by quite a lot of people who worked on the titles that they would not arrive on the aforementioned platform.

All we can do now is cross our fingers and hope that the Games for Windows Live service will receive fresh games that we can all enjoy.

i not too long ago got through with building a computer for gaming and then realized that there are not that many good games out for the PC and by the time that any good games do become available my computer would be outdated.the only reason that microsoft is taking PC gaming more serious is because they have to sell windows and with onlive about to come out microsoft knows that a lot of people will not need a computer to play PC games and you need windows at the moment to play PC games.if you thought that PC gaming was going down before then just wait to see just how fast it drops when onlive starts to sell to the public.

I really wish Gears of War 2 would come out for the PC. I own it for the Xbox 360, but seriously, the customization/map editing that would be possible for Gears 2 would keep the game franchise alive SO LONG. I am SO praying that Microsoft brings this game to the PC, despite Cliffy B. and Epic abandoning their PC fans with no Gears of War 2.
