Some more rumors about the mystery project

I doubt there was any other game in the recent times to get more interpretations than Microsoft's Lips - a title (apparently) nobody knows details of. We've heard rumors that it would be a motion tracking controller and even a racing game Mario Kart like, with Angelina Jolie and other celebrities. As you can see, nobody knew exactly what Lips was going to be about.

Until today, it seems, since the Neogaf forums have a poster stating that it will actually be a "music and singing game that includes 30 songs, two wireless interactive microphones, the ability to use and sing your own music or downloaded songs from an online service". Which means that Microsoft would try to answer to Sony's SingStar and that could be a great idea. We always love the competition between two giants since this usually leads to improvements of their products.

So, back to Lips: it seems that the title will be officially announced really soon and it will also be followed by an Xbox 360 price cut in the US, just so even more people can play the game. It will apparently come with a nice microphone, too, which will be able to track the pitch, rhythm and tune of one's voice.

Also, the microphone peripherals that will be shipped with Microsoft's new game will apparently feature lights that "pulse to the rhythm of your voice" and motion sensors for players to "dance, move or swing to score points". Which would be pretty cool and it also proves that rumors in the past saying that Lips would be a new controller were not completely wrong. It also seems that Lips will offer its gamers the chance to play along to their own music ripped from music CDs (which seems kind of hard to believe, since it would mean less income for Microsoft from DLC).

Have in mind that, although very credible, these are just rumors and none of them might be true. We'll find out exactly next month, during the E3.
