The smartphone will arrive on shelves priced at INR 19,990 ($303 / €226)

On Monday, mobile phone maker Micromax made its long rumored Canvas Doodle 2 A240 official in India, unveiling it with a price tag of INR 19,990 ($303 / €226) attached.

The new device was announced with a 5.7-inch 720p HD touchscreen display and with a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek processor packed inside.

Furthermore, it sports 1GB of RAM, dual-SIM capabilities, a 12-megapixel photo snapper on the back, 5MP front camera, and a 2600 mAh battery inside, AndroidOS reports.

“We are swiftly moving forward in our pursuit of being the number one smartphone player in India, and Canvas Doodle 2 will further consolidate our surge to the top position in smartphone market,” said Shubhodip Pal, CMO Micromax.

The Android 4.2 Jelly Bean-based smartphone will also sport a stylus, along with pre-loaded compatible apps such as M! Doodle, Skitch, and others.
