Melanie Brown, aka Scary Spice, says she can’t wait for the upcoming Spice Girls reunion

The Spice Girls are reuniting very soon: this is no longer subject to speculation, it’s a given fact, confirmed by none other than Melanie Brown, aka Mel B, aka Scary Spice, the one believed to be behind the most recent comeback / reunion plans. The singer spoke to BANG Showbiz and confirmed that, indeed, the Spice Girls were preparing to do something together again – what that something was, she did not say, HollyScoop informs.

Talk of yet another Spice Girls reunion has been making the rounds for several weeks now, and was prompted by four of the five women (sans Victoria Beckham) going out for a dinner date in London. Shortly afterwards, rumor broke that Mel B was thinking of getting the girls together again for one last time, even without Beckham if need be, since she’s reportedly opposed to the idea of getting back to her musical roots. As it turns out, the rumors were accurate.

“We are definitely going to be doing something together again soon. We’re actually working on it right now. I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but it’s really, really exciting. I can’t wait to be singing with the girls again!” Melanie Brown tells BANG, as quoted by HollyScoop. As for what the surprise might consist of, Scary insists she’s not at liberty to say that right now, as neither is any of the other girls.

Even with the confirmation of a reunion, rumors of Posh not being part of it still persist. According to many industry insiders talking to the British tabloids under the cover of anonymity, Victoria Beckham is too dedicated to her fashion career right now (as she’s finally beginning to be accepted by the industry and its relentless critics) to be willing to put everything on hold for a Spice Girls gig. If that be the case, Melanie Brown is willing to have the band go ahead without her, they say.

“Mel’s determined to get the girls back together for the World Cup and wants them to plough ahead as a foursome if Victoria doesn’t want to take part. She has got the others excited by the idea of a one-off appearance. They are very interested.” one such unnamed source says, as cited by HollyScoop. Emma Bunton, Baby Spice, is said to also be somewhat opposed to the idea of a reunion, especially if it also involves traveling.
