After leaking online quite extensively lately, the Meizu Blue Charm Note 2 (aka Meizu M2 Note) is now finally official as a new affordable smartphone with really nifty specs.

What hits you right from the get-go when you look at the Meizu M2 Note is that the round capacitive button placed below the screen has been replaced with a physical key that does not harbor a fingerprint scanner within.

Still, the button is capable of distinguishing between a tap and a click. With a tap, users will be transported back to the main screen, while a click will just reload the previous step.

Meizu M2 Note offers a lot for just $130

Anyway, let’s get down to specifications. The handset makes a debut into the wild with a 5.5-inch Sharp IGZO IPS LCD display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and a MediaTek MT6753 chipset with 8 Cortex A53 cores running at 1.3GHz.

Meizu also throws in 2GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, depending on your taste, which is expandable via microSD card slot.

On the imaging front, the phone boasts a 13MP main camera with 5-element f/2.2 lens and a 5MP frontal one with f/2.0 lens. There’s a pretty decent 3,100 mAh battery sustaining life on board the device and Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed (naturally, you also get the company’s Flyme skin on top).

The smartphone will offer dual-SIM support, alongside a host of connectivity options, including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB 2.0, and GSP with AGPS.

If you’re wondering about the form factor of the phone, you should know the Meizu M2 Note measures 150.9 x 75.2 x 8.7 mm / 5.9 x 2.9 x 0.34 inches and weighs just 149 g / 0.32 lbs.

Meizu will be making available the new phone in China first, as is customary. The device is already up for pre-order in the country and will hit retail locations on June 12.

The 16GB version will be offered for just $130 / €118, while the 32GB model can be yours for $160 / €145. Obviously, if you’re an international user and are ordering through third-party retailers, you’ll end up paying a bit more.
